The Kandasamy house is the residence of a businessman, his wife, and their 4 year old son.

Mr. Kandasamy, a Sri Lankan of Indian origin has family on bothsides of the Indian Ocean. The house was designed to accommodate frequent visits from his family living in India.

Two things influenced the form and space of the house: the family, which in the words of the owner, was the most cherished part in his life and a magnificent Tabopia Rosa tree which was pivotal in the placement of the house.

The Welandawe Prematilleke house is the residence of two architects and their son and daughter. The house is built on a six perch plot that is 20' wide x 100' long.
A series of stepped courtyards placed in the middle of the house heighten the unusual shape of the plot and provide a direct connection between the outside and the inside.
The entire house is focussed on to the family room that is central to the lifestyle of the family. The family room is visually connected to all the main parts of the house.
