Designed
for low-income groups, with a minimum square footage
for each unit equals(300-400 sq.ft). Arrange back-to-back
with simple cross construction,
using cheapest local brick. The cluster grouping
(14 units) minimizes construction while providing
maximum protection from the intense summer sunlight.
Although 3-storey high, each unit area is doubled
due to the availability of open-to-sky
terrace. Inspired by old and historical
cities of Lahore and Peshawar, it attempts to
create an environment of human
scale.
It would relate well to the life style of
local people, both socially
and climatically.
